Chinese Evergreen – Aglaonema crispum

Origin: Southeast Asia

Have a spot that doesn’t get that much light but could use a plant to brighten things up?

Look no further than the Chinese Evergreen. Its showy foliage will make it stand out in a crowd.

Although tolerant of low light conditions, the Chinese Evergreen doesn’t handle temperatures below 55° degrees F. Otherwise it is fairly hardy, making very few demands.

During winter months, it should be watered on a weekly basis. As the temperatures rise, so should the frequency of watering. And although I normally recommend misting, you should avoid doing so with the Chinese Evergreen since it will develop leaf spots.

In addition to good looks, research has shown that the Chinese Evergreen is able to remove airborne toxins making it a valuable part of any home.
